Chapter 8: Growing Pains: Part 1

Image
After work the next day Morgan sat down with Anakin, Teddy and the girls.  Morgan was a little nervous, her relationship with Bronwynn was still a little tense from before her weekend trip with Merlin and they hadn't resolved it yet.      Anakin smiled reassuringly at her from where he was sitting on the love seat with Teddy.  She took a deep breath then started speaking.  She told the kids that she was pregnant, that Merlin was the father and had requested to stay with them to help raise the baby.      "How could you!"      Morgan was startled by Bronwynn's yell.  Before she could say anything, Bronwynn was standing and yelling at her.  Calling her a liar and a cheater.  Morgan still hadn't said anything when Rhiannon pulled her sister out of the room with Anakin yelling at Bronwynn to go to her room.      Morgan was startled when a sob choked her.  Had her...

Chapter 7: Dinner with Family

Image
Morgan found Anakin in the living room when she went looking for him with Merlin.      "Ani, do you have a moment," she asked her husband.      "For you, of course I do," he said inviting her and Merlin to sit with him.       "So," Morgan began hesitantly, "I have some news and I'm not sure how you'll take it."      "Deja vu," Merlin said to himself.      Morgan glared at him before turning back to Anakin.      "What's the news," Anakin asked.      "I'm pregnant," Morgan answered.      Anakin looked back and forth between Morgan and Merlin for a moment before smiling at her.      "That's great, Morgan.  You're going to have another baby.  So tell me, do I get to be an Uncle or am I a honorary grandpa." he asked.      "You're not mad?" Morgan asked to confirm how he was...

Chapter 6: Back at Home

Image
They arrived at the house early on Monday morning.  Inside Morgan was surprised to find Luke toddling around the living room and babbling happily to himself.        "What are you doing up so early little one," Morgan asked going to the toddler.      Luke babbled at her and lifted his arms for the universal request to be picked up.      Morgan laughed and picked up the toddler before going to the kitchen to make breakfast for the rest of her family.  The toddler babbled from the high chair while she cooked.  Morgan smiled and talked back as if the baby was saying real words.      Teddy was the first one up, he pressed a kiss to his son's head and Morgan's cheek before taking a plate.  Morgan smiled at her boys before going through the house to make sure it was clean and to check if the old toys her kids had used were out of the back room.      Whil...

Chapter 5: The Adventure

Image
Morgan chatted with the hermit from the hidden glade for the afternoon, learning more about the local plants and insects and what could be made from them.  The hermit taught her some remedies and sent her off with seeds and plants of local plants.      Morgan arrived back at the cabin she and Merlin were staying at as the sun began to set behind the mountains.  She set up the grill and tried out one of the recipes she had learned that day.  She continued to stir the brew as the door of the cabin opened and shut.      "Did you have a good day," Merlin asked coming down to her.      "I did.  I found a cave, went exploring, discovered a glade, and met a new sim," she listed.      Merlin shook his head.  "Of course.  You're meeting new friends in the middle of nowhere," he said with affection.      "Here. Try this," Morgan said rubbing a little of t...

Chapter 4: First Day Away

Image
Morgan and Merlin spent the morning packing for their trip to Granite Falls.  Morgan let the children know she would be gone for the weekend and that they would need to help their father around the house.      Teddy and Rhiannon wished them a safe trip, Bronwynn stood with her arms crossed and looking away from them.  She shrugged her mother off when Morgan tried to give her a hug before she left.  Morgan watched as she stomped out of the living room.  Rhiannon gave a one armed shrug of her own before following her sister out.        "I'll talk to her Mom," Teddy said.      "I wish she would stop behaving like this.  It isn't the first time I've had a lover other than your father," Morgan sighed.      "It's the first time she's seen it.  Knowing it and seeing it are two different things." Teddy reminded her.      "You are right....

Chapter 3: Time to Talk

Image
Getting off the bus Rhiannon followed Wynn into the house.  She smiled at mom's friend who greeted them with a smile and a welcome but Wynn glared at him and stomped past him to their room.  Rhiannon shrugged at him and hurried after her sister.      In the room Wynn was slamming drawers in the desk.        "What's wrong with you," she asked sitting on her bed.      "Nothing," Wynn growled.      Rhiannon raised a brow and looked at her.      "I don't know," Wynn growled, "I just...I can't...it's Sa'nok's friend.  Something about him set's my fangs on edge."      "You should talk to her.  And probably apologize to him before she gets home too."      "Why should I apologize?" Wynn asked.      "You were rude and you know how she feels about good manners."      Wynn sighed and leane...

Chapter 2: Getting to Know You

Image
Morgana hummed as she puttered around the kitchen.  She gave the eggs on the stove a jostle to keep them from sticking to the bottom of the pan before going to the refrigerator for a bottle of orange juice.  Merlin sat at the table, drinking from a plasma pouch as he watched her move with a smile.      It had been a long time since the last time he visited his old friend.  A generation or two at least, he thought to himself.  The time apart had been good to her.  She was obviously happy and in her element as a Hearthkeeper.      His sharp ears picked up the annoying buzz from an alarm coming from one of the other rooms in the house.  The door on the other side of the stove opened as Morgana ( Morgan, she asked you to call  her Morgan, he reminded himself ) plated the omelets and carried it to the table.  She smiled as she passed the gray haired man and pressed a kiss to his cheek. ...

Chapter 1: The Beginning

Image
Morgan stretched as she climbed out of the carpool.  She waved as Darling pulled away from the curb and drove away.  Turning back to the house she smiled as her gaze drifted past the toys in the yard.  It had been days since her youngest children were young enough to play with them.  Soon though baby Luke would be old enough to play with them once more.      Such was her life, as one generation grows up a new one is born to take their place.  She smiled in contentment at the changes her life had undertaken so many weeks ago.  As she walked up to the gate she stopped at the mailbox to collect the letters inside.       Bill, bill, junk, bill...  She stopped when she came to an envelope made of heavy paper.  There was no name written on it.  Flipping it over, she smiled when she saw a familiar seal in wax over the flap.  Opening it, Morgan skimmed through the letter to get to the ...
