Chapter 5: The Adventure

Morgan chatted with the hermit from the hidden glade for the afternoon, learning more about the local plants and insects and what could be made from them.  The hermit taught her some remedies and sent her off with seeds and plants of local plants.

Morgan arrived back at the cabin she and Merlin were staying at as the sun began to set behind the mountains.  She set up the grill and tried out one of the recipes she had learned that day.  She continued to stir the brew as the door of the cabin opened and shut.

"Did you have a good day," Merlin asked coming down to her.

"I did.  I found a cave, went exploring, discovered a glade, and met a new sim," she listed.

Merlin shook his head.  "Of course.  You're meeting new friends in the middle of nowhere," he said with affection.

"Here. Try this," Morgan said rubbing a little of the cooled remedy on his hand.  "It should feel a little cool."

After half a minute Merlin raised his brows as he felt the sensation of cold on his hand.  "Where did you find this?" he asked.

"The sim I met," Morgan answered as she transferred the concoction into a clean jar.

"Tell me more about them," Merlin asked watching her.

Morgan entered the door to the back of the cabin after she finished with her tasks outside.  She found herself in the bedroom.  From the front she could hear Merlin moving around cleaning up from his day working indoors.

In the bathroom, Morgan ran water and splashed her face to cool down after her day outside.   Back in the bedroom she jumped when she bumped into Merlin in the doorway.

"Sorry," he said when he realized he'd startled her.

Morgan shook her head. "I just wasn't expecting you to be right here when I left."

Morgan glanced to the side where the bed sat in the room, before bringing her eyes back to Merlin.

Her gaze dropped to his mouth and the quirk of a smile he had before she rose on tiptoe to press their lips together.  Merlin was unresponsive at first, but before Morgan could pull away he pulled her close and returned her enthusiasm.

They moved to the bed and sat while continuing to kiss.  When breathing became difficult Morgan pulled back and pressed their foreheads together.

"I almost forgot what kissing could be like with you," Merlin murmured while they tried to calm their breathing.

"It has been awhile," she said.  "Have the others been good to you in the time since?"

"As rare as they have been, yes they've been good to me." Merlin said before kissing her again.  "But right now I just want us to be good together."

     Morgan laughed while they kissed.

Morgan left the bed after Merlin drifted to sleep and went into the bathroom.  After a shower she put on a dress, puttered around the living room.  She found a book on herbal remedies and pulled it off the shelf.  She sat and opened the book and began reading.

She spent the morning reading before going out to collect more plants and insects in the afternoon.  She returned to the cabin and helped Merlin with his herbal remedies and they spent the evening making love.  They left the cabin after midnight to return to the house before the sun would rise.

Random Ramblings...

Another chapter.  So, I can't remember if I've mentioned it previously but I'm trying a new method of storytelling here.  Instead of taking screenshots to fit a pre-existing story of my creation, I'm taking screenshots while playing and writing what I was imagining was happening while I was playing.  (Did that sentence make sense?).

So, Merlin and Morgan have been lover's previously if that wasn't clear by now.  Like Morgan said I imagined it would happen whenever they were both alone and lonely, typically after a lover or family member died in Morgan's case.

Sidenote: recently found a pin on Pinterest that says an adventure is a trip without a destination.  I thought that applied to the vacation that Morgan is taking in this chapter.
