Chapter 8: Growing Pains: Part 1
After work the next day Morgan sat down with Anakin, Teddy and the girls. Morgan was a little nervous, her relationship with Bronwynn was still a little tense from before her weekend trip with Merlin and they hadn't resolved it yet.
Anakin smiled reassuringly at her from where he was sitting on the love seat with Teddy. She took a deep breath then started speaking. She told the kids that she was pregnant, that Merlin was the father and had requested to stay with them to help raise the baby.
"How could you!"
Morgan was startled by Bronwynn's yell. Before she could say anything, Bronwynn was standing and yelling at her. Calling her a liar and a cheater. Morgan still hadn't said anything when Rhiannon pulled her sister out of the room with Anakin yelling at Bronwynn to go to her room.
Morgan was startled when a sob choked her. Had her relationship with her daughter gotten so strained without her realizing it?
"It'll be okay," Anakin said pulling her into his arms. She cried into his shoulder as he tried to comfort her.

The door opened and closed behind her but she didn't look to see who it was.
"Can I join?" Teddy asked.
"Yes," Morgan said and started resetting the pieces on the board, ending her game.
"I talked to Padme last night," he said sitting down.
"About what?" Morgan asked.
"What about the girls," Morgan asked confused.
"I told her about Wynn's reaction last night." He moved a piece on the board. "The girls are going to be Young Adults in a few days. She wants them to come stay with her and Farhan when they try out their luck in San Myshuno."
"If Rhi wants to go with them she can, but Wynn is still too young." Morgan said.
Teddy looked at her. "Too young?" he asked.
"Blood-born struggle with their instincts and need training when we are young. Instinct tells us to hunt when we thirst, training tells us to stay quiet and below the radar. It takes time to learn to balance the two. It is Law that new Blood-born stay with their Blood-born parent or a surrogate for training until they are 100 days old. Wynn isn't even 40 days yet."
"What can we do with her then?"
"We wait. I do what I can to train her, and when she comes of age she can choose to stay or go."
"100 days is a long time," Teddy observed.
"100 days is a very short time when you have forever to live," Morgan corrected.
